Donna had a wonderful day on Monday! She ate a large amount of food and good variety, and absolutely loved being able to get outside for a "stroll." She is absolutely moving in the right direction. She still has trouble walking, but is working with physical therapy and her nutrition to overcome that. The docs have said that the steroids Donna takes are hindering her ability to walk, but that bringing up her protein level will help counter that somewhat. Donna is putting her best foot (or fork!) forward and trying to increase her protein intake as much as she can.

Donna, I'm all smiles! Small steps turn into bigger steps, and next thing you know, you'll be taking a huge step out of that hospital! Your strength through this journey has been breath-taking.
ReplyDeleteSending lots of blog hugs to you today...hope you feel each one!
Love Ya,
Lorelei
WOW!! What a day to Praise God. For your continued improvements & for the blessings he has showered down on you in the last few days. I am so glad to hear u got to see the OUTSIDE for a bit...i'm sure that was amazing. Especially if the weather was as nice as it has been up here in Copper Hill.
ReplyDeleteI miss u so much but I know that with every day you are closer to gettin up outta that place & be comin home to us.
I love u so much & I am so proud to call u MAMA. Eat a few cheeseburgers for me cuz I crave them things like crazy...& I hear that they may be somewhat good for u...At least that's what I choose to believe.
Well, guess I better go & wash some of your husbands dirty clothes...we don't want him runnin around naked after all...

Hello Donna!! Hearing that you are getting lots better,,,,as compared to 2 or 3 weeks ago,,,,,hearing that is a THRILL!
ReplyDeleteI told you last night that I'm coming next week to see you. Well, that's not quite right.
"Us Four" are gonna be getting together. Yeah, Sarah Ann and Jane and me and you! "Us Four"!
Can't wait!
K.
My goodness....where in the world have Aunt Dix and Uncle Kingly been all this time?!?! (No offense to the other caregivers - mind you - because I know everyone has worked wonders.) But apparently they are really doing the trick. Eat that protein, Donna, so those legs get stronger and so your walking improves. You are doing great! You can do it....I know you can.
ReplyDeleteLove and Miss you so much!
Suzanne
Hey sissy,
ReplyDeleteI just had to laugh when I read Suzanne's post. Uncle Lewie will forever be immortalized as Uncle Kingly now. And as one of those other caregivers I take no offense--we've known all along that Aunt D in Tn could bring a perspective and advice none of us who haven't walked that road could bring. And God bless Uncle Kingly for being who he is too. They are a formidible team!!!
I hope to talk to you soon, if I can catch you in! Love you Big D, janet
I love all of you guys that write little notes to my mother. One day she is going to go back and actually read all of this and think of what an inspiration she has been.
ReplyDeleteI think I need Uncle Kingly and Aunt D to come to my house and get the motivation started. Maybe they can open up their own business, "Uncle git a move on and Aunt D's caterin." No offense, that's just the way us southerners talk round these parts. You know we can cook us up some good ole possum and frog legs and cow tounge. Okay Okay, I'm done. Hey the heat must be gettin to me. HA HA. You know i gotta give mom something to roll her eyes and laugh about. All yall caregivers out there know what the "look" is, right? Well as she reads this I am probably gettin the look.
Okay for real now i guess i am done being CRAZY!!!
I love all yall out there who have been a part of my moms life and journey. You don't even begin to realize the impact you have had on hers and her families life. Thank You so much. Keep Praying.
In the name of Jesus,
Monica
Back at you Monica,
ReplyDeleteYou are cracking me up today. Wait until I tell Uncle & Aunt about the business you recommend, they will get a big kick outta that. And possum, frogs legs and cow tongue are the reasons we had to go out of state to get a cook down there. Course I can't cook anything so I can't say anything about that! Keep me laughing,
Love auntie J
Donna, it sounds like things are going much better for you. The prayers are still going up for you from everywhere. God is going to get so tired of hearing your name, He is going to heal you just to give Him some peace. Jokes aside, hang in there, keep up the food intake, get your strength up and you will be walking out of there before you know it. You've been there long enough! Take care, Gwen
ReplyDeleteMonica, you were on a roll yesterday, you silly woman! Thanks for the laughs!!
