Donna had a pretty good day Sunday. She made 2 circuits around the floor walking, had a shower AND had a haircut. Her hair (unfortunately) had started falling out again, so Joel buzzed her. She does have a sore throat and the headache lingers, but all in all it was a good day. One of the nurses who they have a lot of confidence in told Donna today to just give them this week, and that next week brighter days would be ahead. Her doctor still feels she is doing extremely well. They are waiting on her white counts to start coming up now. Donna sounded good, if tired, when we talked.
Joel wants everyone to know now that he has experience with hair cuts he will be offering them to anyone interested when he gets back to Roanoke. Good price, he only has 1 style -- GI Jane/GI Joe.
Hey, Donna!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you were up and walking around yesterday. I hate that you were feeling so badly on Sunday when we talked. Hopefully the headache won't last too much longer. Wish I could have been there when Joel shaved your head...to hold your hand if nothing else. Tell him, Thanks, but no thanks on the haircut offer." I'll continue to ride to Collinsville to get mine done.
I'm thinking about you and praying that each day is a better day. Hang in there, Girlfriend! You're doing great!
Love ya - Suzanne
Oh my, Joel with clippers!! Hee-Hee!! Love ya Joel, but I'll pass on the GI-Jane haircut! Donna, I'm glad to hear that you are up and moving around, and will be glad when the soreness in your mouth and throat eases, and that ole headache goes away! Keep up the good work, and I hope to talk to you soon!
ReplyDeleteLove Ya!

I'm just guessing, but now that we have spiraled down into Joel stories, don't think it will be long until Donna starts blogging the page herself! Maybe for tomorrow we can have Joel post a joke. NOOOOOOOOO! love, janet
ReplyDeleteDonna,
ReplyDeleteWe sooooooo missed you on Sunday. The Cantata was just not the same without you, but you would be so proud of Hayden & Anna. They were super cute and did a wonderful job on "your" song. They got right up to the mikes (yes they each had to have their own) and belted it out like old pro's.
I know it's been a rough couple of days for you but remember Phil 4:13. Tell Joel we are thinking of him as well. Let us know if we can do anything on our end. Please know that our prayers go up for you constantly. Hang in there! We love you!

Ummmm....Jan? Have you been drinking again? Why else would you suggest Joel post anything, much less one of his, er, jokes?
ReplyDeleteI'm just kidding everyone. Jan doesn't drink...at least not since the intervention.
Ok, I'm going to be honest here. I was reading the blog for today and looking at the picture of Joel and thinking to myself that you looked like hell, until I clicked on the picture and realized that was Joel and DAD not Donna. Whew.
ReplyDeleteRemember you're my direct connection!
Love you...Sharon
LOL at Sharon! Looks like she was worried about those "shim" cells kicking in.Donna better get well and start blogging soon or we are gonna need crowd control!
ReplyDeleteAnd Bev, the intervention has worked well, especially since Joel hasn't been up here telling jokes.
LOL you guys. Jim said Joel and Donna are smiling today! Donna is reading blog. Joel is warming up yall. Love Jim!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJoel we know that hair dressers run in the family but their isn't enough room for anymore on Conner Road. Ha Ha We love and miss seeing you both at church. Can't wait for you to come back. Love you guys.
