Jan had a long phone conversation with Donna's nurse yesterday. It seems they are trying to sort out who said what about Donna being released to clinic. It seems some of her health providers are being more optimistic than others about Donna going to clinic in the relatively near future. We've been through this with Duke before and I am sure Jan will get it all sorted out soon.
At this point, as best as we know right now, they are definitely working towards Donna's release; however, it probably will not be quite as soon as we originally were led to believe. I don't think this really is a surprise to too many of us considering that while Donna is doing extremely well in comparison, she is still very weak. In addition, there are still some issues with Donna's treatment that need to be better controlled before her release. The main problem seems to be finding the correct balance of treating the DAH and the TTP without them working against one another.
All in all, Donna is doing very well and continues her slow climb to health. Her spirits are up and she's taking a more active role in managing her health; i.e., trying to add more variety to her diet, trying to eat more, and trying to exercise more.

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop in today to say hello.
Love & Miss you so much!!
Cheyenne sends her little wet kisses also! You would have laughed at her the other day...she wanted to go outside...and I was ignoring her...the remotes were on the floor, she came over and stomped on them to get my attention. She's such a silly dog!!

Hello!! I'm so happy to read how well you are doing as compared with what you've been through before this. We talked/emailed quite a bit discussing what we thought you'd have to go through, and a lot of what we feared has happened.
ReplyDeleteNow though, you are at the time we prayed would come. A time of everything beginning to 'move up' rather than continuing down.
I'm happy to read your spirits are pretty good right now. Please try to stay that way.
God has been right over you all the time, helping you physically to 'hang on', and right over the Doctors helping them to make the right decisions, and use these decisions to continue your healing/pathway to be again the Donna I know and love. And, the Donna who has been a part of my life since 1983. We have had some difficult.....very difficult times, but right now I feel that everything is on the way up.
Thank You God. You've been with us/over us all the way.
K.
Just letting you know that all of us in Texas are still rooting for you and praying for you each and every day. Keep going Donna-you have proved what a strong fighter you are-you are one tough cookie!!!!! Love you and trusting the Lord to see you through to the end of the rainbow!!! Love Sherry
ReplyDeleteHello, Donna. You don't know what a blessing it is to read your blog and keep up with your progress. Your sisters and caregivers are doing a great job. It is so good to see what God can do and we know we owe your progress to Him. Keep up with the positive outlook and know we are all praying for you. My pastor asks about you every Sunday and is reading your blog as time permits. He is very impressed with this communication tool and loves the music. Husband Bill says hello and hopes you are doing well. Love you, Gwen
ReplyDeleteHi Sissy, was so GREAT to hear your strong voice today. It was the best 5 minutes of my day/week/month!!! We are lining up all our little duckies in a row for when you blow that joint, the sooner the better and I know you can't wait. Remember the footprints...I know for awhile you've only seen the one set and we know our Lord has carried you in His arms...I'm starting to see the shadow of your footprints ready to start walking beside Him. Our faith and our loving Father have gotten us to hear, He will get us the rest of the way to wherever this is leading so keep hanging on. Missing you, loving you and will be there soon for a visit, J
ReplyDeleteToday is 1/28/09 Wednesday - hey Donna, just wanted to stop in to say howdy!! We slid into work this morning, literally, ice on the roads. Yuck!! They closed schools in Franklin County. I hope you are continuing to have a good appetite...and I'm still praying that you will become stronger and stronger each day, so you can get out of there, and into your apartment!
ReplyDeleteSmile, cuz God loves you, and so do I!!
