  1. Special memories of Donna, goodness where to start...she was the BEST friend anyone could have...supportive, loving, compassionate, always tried to see the good in people. The one thing that stands out for me the most is...Donna's hugs. When I was losing my mother to liver disease, Donna was a great source of comfort. She hugged me many times going through this tough time. I will always be grateful that Donna Sowers was a part of my life, and I'll always treasure that she was a very special friend to me.

I love and miss you so much, Donna!

  3. And if you want to share something funny...when I would be facing something hard...Donna would say..."put your big girl panties on, and ..." I laugh so much when I hear those words in my head. She could be so funny! Goodness, Bev...there's so much to share! Little bleeps keep popping up in my head...and I just cannot help but laugh!!

  4. This one is for Mrs. Pennington..."Mom used to say, good Christian girls do not say CRAP". Well, every single time something crazy would happen, and that word would want to creep out of our mouths, we would just giggle, and say I know, I know...Mom would be telling us...

    LOL!!!

I told ya...the list goes on and on!!

Please share the memory that I posted on the blog about Donna reaching out to me one Mother's Day a couple of years ago. I would love to be there to help celebrate her life with you all-but if I can't be there in person I certainly hope you know I will be there in spirit. Still holding you all close in my heart and prayers-Sherry

  7. I can share the same thoughts I shared at the service here. I'm also looking for some more pictures---one in particular is Donna holding up the big fish she caught. (I think it's at least 2 inches long! ha, ha,).

Looking forward to see all of you again.

  17. Hey everyone. I think that the memories that we had with Mama D. are too numerous to list any one in particular...but the ones we remember most are all of the birthdays that we shared as a family together. She never missed not even one in the years that our family had her...& as most of you know that's alotta darn birthdays. I think the best of them was the 50th party we threw for daddy.
She kept on telling us that it was soooo hard for her to keep the secret from daddy, or to try to explain why we were lingering so much before the actual day. But she kept her secret & it was the best party ever...besides her 50th of course. Those are memories that will last me a lifetime...She & him were just so perfect for each other & so in love. I am just so blessed that we were able to share in the laughter, tears, love & hugs with her while she was here. There's not a day that passes that I don't miss that smile, her hugs were totally the best...even when she would be aggrevated she was beautiful.
I hope that you will enjoy the memorial, and we wish so much that we could be there. Sending all of our Love & missing u bunches...

  18. Hi Bev, I wanted to just say that it will be hard not to be there for this very special occasion. My heart will be there with you all. I was not priviliged to see a lot of Donna for many years but was so happy to see her at the Crabtree family reunion two years ago. She was so happy and just being Donna. It was a very special time for all of us. I remember how she laughed so much and just brought such joy to our time. She is and always was such a joy to be around. Looking forward to the day when we will meet again. Love you all so much.

  22. Thanks everyone for the memories posted and the congrats over Kendall. I heard several people tell me that when babies smile in their sleep they're playing with the angels. Well, I never thought about it until now. She's playing with mom. There's no other explaination to it, and there's no other angel up there that would make her smile that much. :)

I have been trying to email you but they are coming back to me undelivered. Please email me when you can. I was writing to tell you that I was thinking of you all Saturday and I know that many wonderful memories were shared of Donna's life-and that I hope that you all were able to laugh and have good memories-because that is what Donna would have wanted you all to do. Will you be coming to San Anonio this month? Love you all, Sherry
