OK, I've got some things cooked and packed. Get your prayer hats on that Donna will eat today. There is "heavy talk" about reinserting the feeding tube if she doesn't eat, and we really, really, REALLY don't want that. I'll try to update from the hospital today to let you know how it goes, but if I don't get a chance to do that I'll be back on here tonight to report.
(And, Jan? Don't think your comment on the last post got passed me, and there'll be no more discussion about my, er, "talents.")

Hey Donna,
ReplyDeleteWith all that is in me, I am begging you to PLEASE EAT today, so you do not have to have that feeding tube put back in. Come on, Donna, you can do it, you can do it, you can do it. I have faith in you!
Love Ya!

Hi Donna! Just pretend that whatever they try to feed you is your favorite food. If that doesn't work - just eat it so you don't have to put up with that tube! :0) haha We love ya girl & hope & pray that you can eat & get the nourishment your body needs to keep on keeping on! (you're the little engine that could)

Eat, Donna, EAT! Please try. You know we all must do things we don't like to do sometimes...and this will be one of those times. I know nothing tastes good, but please pretend it does. Let's avoid that feeding tube, get some strength back - and get outta there!! Please?!?!?!? Pretty please?!?!? With cream and sugar on top?!?!?
ReplyDeleteI love ya!

Momma, it looks like we are all supporting you and rooting you on. SO, keep you mind focused on food today, and we all know you can do it because you are a very strong woman.
ReplyDeleteLov You Bunches,
Monica
Okay Big D, everybody is on the bandwagon so let's hear that some food went into the hatch today. Just sit back and pretend it's Dale Earnhardt Jr (insert your own fantasy here) feeding you grapes off the vine (or something). Bev can help with this--I've seen her talk to peas before. Let me know how it works out! Love you, rooting for you here, j
ReplyDeleteAll my life, when one of us was sick - my parents made us Grits & Chicken soup. It was the only thing that would stay down and I promise you with all that is within me - it's delicious and worth a try! It was laid on my heart to share this recipe with you.
ReplyDeleteI have passed this recipe to many people and they have all loved it and now cook it when they are sick with colds and flu or just because they want some!
Boil chicken. (I just use boneless breasts). While the chicken is cooking - cut up a big onion in it and let it cook with the chicken. Add 1 or 2 chicken bouillion cubes. Once the chicken is deboned or shredded - add 1 and 1/2 cups of grits and 1 cup of yellow cornmeal. Stir until the lumps are out and add water to make it to your desired thickness. Let her try it with some saltine crackers.

Hi beautiful! This is daughter #5,just checking in on you. Just talked to dad,he said you were able to eat a little. Please keep trying! Remember that race with grandma we talked about the other day, you can't beat her if you don't keep up your strength. Like your birthday card said we have to do some "Rump Shakin" and we will when you win this! So EAT UP!!
ReplyDeleteBlowing kisses your way!
Love, Tasha & Stephen & kids
Donna, I know you are struggling and are very tired. I also know that God is walking with you at the times He is not carrying you. My prayers and thoughts are with you constantly. Should I also be praying for your cook? It sounds like it (ha, ha) At least that is what Jan seems to be saying. What fun sibling rivarly is! Sarabeth says "HI." We love you. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteWith much love, Jeanette
